A long overdue update Part I

Since starting school, blogging became something of the past. But now I have finished school and am just waiting to be placed for my internship. We have had a few adventures along the way. Over the summer we went and visited Andy's aunt, uncle, and cousins in Oregon. (pictures to come later of that trip.) We had a blast playing on the beach, sailing, and enjoying family. Andy started back to school again in August and completely ready to face whatever comes his way. In October we moved into a home in Washington Terrace. For right now we are doing a rent to own sort of thing, until the owner gets everything worked out. I am totally loving the fact that I do not have to share space with others, Kayden has a yard of his own, and I can decorate the house anyway I like. Most of all we really don't have to answer to anyone because the owner is a good childhood friend who knows we will take care of the house as if we were the owners. We were excited to add to our family and found out that we were to have a little one the middle of June. Heavenly Father is the only one that knows best, and after only knowing for a short time the little one went back home to him. It was a hard and trying on us but we both found comfort in knowing we would meet that little one later in life. We enjoyed Halloween with our friends the Payne's. Kayden is a complete boy and chose to be IRON MAN. He learned the theme song too. We are now getting ready for Thanksgiving. We took the opportunity to have family pictures done when the leaves started changing colors. My good friend, Silvia did them. She owns her own photography company and if I might say does very good job. Take a look for your self.

So Kayden came to me a few days after our new nephew Tyse was born and told me that I was going to have two girls soon. He made it very clear that he did not want to have a baby brother because they scared him. I am not sure why he is scared of a little brother but he is sure he is going to have two sisters. So instead we decided to build him his own sibling and buy him a pet. Say hi to Oso the Robot and the 4 Nemos.

It has been way crazy and trying to keep up with everything has made my head just spin. So I decided as a stress reliever I will try to blog a little more and see how many days I can go. So I decided to start with the twelve days of Christmas and update a few things along the way. Here are a few random pictures since August. More like Daddy Everyday

So the last few weeks has been crazy and only going to get crazier, but it seems to me that Kayden is more like Daddy everyday! So lets start with last week, when he ran away. My little brother, Tanner was staying with us. I had ran to the restroom and asked Tanner to keep an eye on him. I came out, not two minutes later, and see that the front door is wide open and Kayden is no where to be seen. I asked Tanner where Kayden had gone and he had no idea at this point I am freaking out! I run outside to check the front yard and possibly the neighbors yard, because Kayden is known for getting in the car if it is unlocked. I had no luck. at this point I am in tears and freaking out calling Andy. I see the neighbor across the street and ask if she has seen him. She then offers to drive around the neighborhood looking for me. A few minutes later Tanner and the neighbor find him around the corner playing in the neighbors driveway! AH! Anyone thinking of Andy when he was two? It only gets better. Today we went and took Kayden to play on the jungle gym at McDonalds after checking on Alan Jr.'s store. Andy and I were talking to each other when Kayden walked over and I smelled something stinky. I ran after Kayden and discovered and he had taken the diaper off and that he had put his regular pants back on. There was poo every where! all over him and all over the jungle gym. I was so embarrassed. Now on top of that the one diaper we had the tabs had torn off. So we have a messy kiddo, no diaper and a smelly jungle gym. I wanted to just die, I was extremely embarrassed and wanted to start my day over. Just reminds me of the stories of Andy clearing a dairy cream with his stinky bottom. The joys of being a mommy. I laugh, I cry, and would never trade it for anything! I can only imagine what more is to come my way.

Weekday Getaway

So Andy planned a trip for our 3rd anniversary and took me to Salt Lake to play. He took me to the Anniversary Inn and to The Roof for dinner. The room we stayed in was decorated like the Jungle and had very detailed art designs. After checking in we went to dinner. When we returned, Andy had arranged to have flowers spread throughout the room, and for a movie package of drinks, popcorn, and treats to be delivered. It was very sweet and very cute. We spent the following day having breakfast served in bed, doing a few tours around historic temple square and then went shopping at the Gateway. It was a nice but a much needed mini vacation. Thanks Andy you're so sweet!

One evening before Andy and I went to bed we went in to check on Kayden and this is how we found him. There were toys everywhere and he was just laying there with the ring hanging out of his mouth. Now when you see things like that you wonder how you could ever get mad at him.

Today was a nice mother day all except we had to say goodbye to part of our family today. Our kitty Baby became sick this week and was too weak to fight anymore and pasted away in her sleep. I know this might be silly to post about something like this but it is something deeper to me at least. It makes me look at life as a whole. It makes me think how life is so short and we do not have the time to worry and fight about or with things that are out of our control. Rather we should just embrace them and learn from the lessons Heavenly Father would have us learn. As well as to not take for granted the people that come into our lives because one day they just might no be there. I am so blessed to be the mother of a two year old, who though he is a handful, I love him to death. I have been blessed with how he teaches me so much each day as well as how he teaches me to be more patient and slow down to enjoy things. You never know what you might be blessed with if you do. I am excited to blessed with the kiddos that are to come into our family. So Happy Mother's day to all those mom's and soon to be mommy's.

It was an interesting weekend. What was thought to be just an upset stomach turned out to be my appendix. We started our weekend Friday night at the doctors office, then the ER, and finally having surgery really early Saturday morning. Then after having to stay a day longer in the hospital, because the doctor was no where to be found, I was able to go home to some much needed peace and quiet. Thank you for all those who were willing to help with Kayden or those who helped us out with dinner. It was a blessing and took a lot of stress off of Andy and myself. Thank you so much.

We thought since Kayden is feeling a little better we would venture out instead of looking at the same four walls. So we went Bowling and out for some dinner. It was funny because the first time Kayden took the ball and tossed it down the lane, he started running after it. So what does Daddy do, he runs after him in bowling shoes and about biffs it on the lane. The family next to us and I were all dying of laughter. Sorry honey, but that was funny.

Kayden now. Flying home to see Daddy. Kayden when he turned one. Kayden only a few minutes old. It makes me sad and excited at the same time to see my little man growing up. He is so fun and full of so much life. Even the worst moments when he is throwing tantrums and won't listen, will change the fact that he has a sweet heart which he is more than willing to share.

Tonight while Andy was at school we went and tagged his car with toilet paper, depends and Maxi pads. We thought it was pretty funny! This is the result of our mischief. Victory is mine. So Dawn you inspired me to put this on our blog. I do not make deserts from scratch because I just can't. I normally screw the recipes up or they just don't taste like they should. My mom gave me this recipe and it turned out really yummy! Homemade sugar cookie fruit pizza! Enjoy.

Valentines Day Fun

For Valentines we had the opportunity to go with a group of friends to the Salt Lake City Temple. Despite the weather and roads, it was one of the best Valentines we were able to enjoy. It was beautiful to see the snow fall all around the temple and one of the neatest experience! We enjoyed walking the grounds and being able to talk and enjoy each others company. Thank you Bryce and Jen for allowing us to join you for that opportunity!

Road Trip Anyone?

So I decided that it would be really fun to take a road trip to see my good friend, Silvia! I think that I was nuts. I am not sure how some mom's can do it without there hubbies, but kuddos to you! I drug my cousin, Angelyn with me and bless her heart, she was a true sport about it. For the most part Kayden did really well other than just getting restless. The true fun started when we entered Flagstaff and hit a major snow storm. I could not even see two feet in front of me. Scary! By the grace of God I finally came upon three snow plows and followed them the remaining way into Flagstaff. The 30 miles that should have taken no more than 30-45 mins. took two hours. AH! It was a nightmare. None the less we made it safely to a hotel for the night and arrived safe and sound to Phoenix! Thanks Silvia! Pictures to come!

Getting Rid of the Binki

Okay so I need advise about the dreaded pacifier. We had no big problem getting rid of the bottle but we are really struggling with the binki. I often wonder what the best way would be to break Kayden of it, but also enjoy my sleep and a happy baby. A lot of times it is easier to give him a binki, when he is upset, and cuddles and other methods of consoling do not work. His pediatrician recommended letting him do it on his terms. The more I am trying to get him to stop the more he is going to fight it. My concern is will it affect his teeth and be more of a problem the older he gets. HELP!

Our little boy is not so little anymore. Today our baby turned one. I can not believe that a year ago, I was sitting in the hospital holding my little boy for the first time. He came into this world weighing 8 lbs 9 oz, measuring 21 1/2 in. long. Here we are a year later and he is weighing 23 lbs and measuring 30 something in long. He is a very happy and active little boy who loves to smile! I am excited to see the young man he becomes and the many things he will do with his life. We LOVE you Kayden!

10 Years ago: Ten years ago I was ten almost 11 living in Cleveland, TN going to school. Exciting, huh. HAHA In ten years from now I would like to have finished my nursing degree and working in the maternity ward. I would like for Andy and I to have a house of our own and more kids to spoil. 5 Things on my to do list for today: 1. Finish the laundry 2. Take down the Christmas tree. ( I know it is February.) 3. Go to the doctors. 4. Finish my scrapbook project. 5. Scrub the bathroom. Things I would do if i suddenly was a billionaire: I would do what everyone else would do pay off all of our debt and then put money in a savings account for the kids schooling. After all that if there were anything left I would go on a trip to Ireland with Andy. 3 of my bad habits: 1. Letting the laundry pile up. 2. Starting to many projects at once. 3. Not getting out of bed till the very last minute and then running around with my head cut off trying to get out of the house on time. Places I have Lived: Ogden, UT Boise, ID Tuscon, AZ Nashville, TN Cleveland, TN Port Orchard, WA Jobs I have had: Michaels Arts and Craft, CNA- Crestwood Care Center, Optician- Standard Optical. Things most people don't know about me: I don't know of anything others do not know about me because my life is an open book , maybe too open. HAHA. I was born two months early. And I really want twins!!!!!!!!!! Silly I know but I do.
